TRSTE, LLC is a Florida limited liability company that acts as a trustee of Florida land trusts created under section 689.071 of the Florida Statutes. The company is attorney-owned and operated, and acts as trustee for hundreds of properties across the State of Florida. The land trust is a unique, statutorily created vehicle designed to provide an owner with anonymity of the property owner’s identity. Only the trustee’s name appear in the public records, and there is no need for a closing agent to review the actual trust agreement if the deed into the trustee is properly drafted. For a more detailed explanation of land trusts and their uses, click here. To request us to be your land trustee, a beneficiary must provide us with certain information. We will obtain information from you to start the process. Once we are engaged, we will work with you and the closing agent to ensure that everything is properly completed to name us as your land trustee. Once we are your trustee, we will place your information into our database and notify the IRS of our relationship. We update the database daily and will forward any important legal notices to you by fax, e-mail or postal mail, as warranted. However, while we forward most such notices to you, we do not — as a regular course of business — forward annual tax bills for the trust property to you. You are responsible for obtaining those from the appropriate tax collector’s website, or call us to have a copy of the bill forwarded to you. We look forward to serving as your land trustee.
